Features › Favourite Clipboard
Favourite Clipboard
Your recent copies and your saved snippets, one shortcut away. ⌘⌥V opens the panel on Clip History, and Tab switches to Favourite Clips and back. You can also open it from the ExperimentC menu bar item, Open Clip History, with no shortcut involved.
Clip History
- Every plain-text copy you make while the app is running is captured automatically. Images, files, and formatted content are not captured.
- Copying something already in the list moves it back to the top instead of adding a second copy of it.
- The list holds your last 50 copies by default, adjustable from 1 to 200 under Favourite Clipboard → Settings ("Clip history size"). Lowering it trims the list immediately.
- History lives for the session only. It is never written to disk, and quitting the app clears it.
Favourite Clips
- Snippets you save deliberately: signatures, addresses, boilerplate, that one regex.
- Add them from the Favourite Clipboard screen, or press ⌘F on a history row to promote it. The row moves out of history and into your favourites.
- Favourites survive quitting and relaunching, and sync to your account.
Using the panel
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
| type anything | Filter the list. It matches anywhere in the text and ignores case. |
| ↑ ↓ | Move the selection. |
| ↩ | Paste the selected row. |
| ⌃1 – ⌃9 | Paste a row straight off its number. Numbers follow what is on screen, so they stay correct while you filter. |
| Tab | Switch between Clip History and Favourite Clips. |
| ⌘F | Move the selected history row into your favourites. Clip History only. |
| ⌘D | Delete the selected row. |
| ⎋ | Close the panel. |
Pasting replaces your clipboard. The text goes onto your clipboard and then into the app you
were in, so whatever was on your clipboard before is gone.
If the network is down
Everything still works. Your changes are saved locally, the app shows a small notice ("Couldn't sync to the server. Your changes are saved locally and will retry on the next edit."), and it retries on your next edit. If it cannot reach the server while loading, it shows your local copy.
